They strongly believe in nurturing the talent within the team, and their Head of Nursing Education, is currently developing career progression pathways to help identify and support our teams’ career goals. They are passionate about the clinical side of nursing and our nurses are all clinical coaches and assist in supporting the many student nurses who complete their training with us. They are happy to support certificates and also provide further non-clinical training, such as our bespoke VDS leadership course which members from of our vet, nurse and receptionist teams have recently completed.

The nurses generally work a 4-day week with an hour lunch break, and have a dedicated twilight and night teams, so there is no out-of-hours requirement except that our day team act as “last resort” backup for the night on an on-call rota. They have robust systems in place that mean this really is a last resort and rarely used. Everyone contributes to the weekend rota, where you will provide in-patient care at one of our hospitals and help with emergencies supported by a 2nd RVN, an SVN an ANA and a receptionist as well as the two vets.
