We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Locum Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to join our team in Slough, Berkshire. This ongoing position offers a structured Monday to Friday schedule with no weekend work required. The ideal candidate will assist the veterinary team in providing high-quality care to animals and ensure the smooth daily operations of the clinic.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (No Weekends)
Shifts: 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary nurses with handling and restraint of animals during examinations and procedures.
- Provide care to hospitalized animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, including cleaning kennels, surgical rooms, and common areas.
- Prepare clinical areas and equipment for consultations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
- Assist in client communication, offering advice on basic pet care when needed.
- Support reception duties such as greeting clients, answering phones, and scheduling appointments when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Care Assistant or in an animal care role.
- Strong animal handling skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently within a busy veterinary practice.
- A passion for animal care and welfare.
