Experienced Veterinary Surgeon Burgess Hill
Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Job Type: Full-time (Part-time options available)
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)
Why Join The Team?
This vibrant, small animal practice in Burgess Hill is looking for a passionate and experienced veterinary surgeon to join their friendly team. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality care with compassion, giving you the opportunity to fully engage with each case and provide thorough workups for our clients' cherished pets. With a varied caseload and a supportive team environment, you'll be empowered to go the extra mile for your patients.
About The Team:
This practice boasts a fantastic team of 9 experienced vets, 9 qualified nurses, dedicated trainee nurses, and a welcoming front-of-house staff. Many of their team members are pursuing certificates, and they strongly encourage professional development, supporting you in exploring areas of interest that will further enrich the services they offer.
Facilities:
You will work in a purpose-built, recently renovated practice with all the modern equipment you need, including digital X-rays, ultrasonography, in-house laboratory services, and dedicated wards for dogs, cats, and isolation cases. With a loyal client base and approximately 30% insured clients, they ensure you have the resources necessary to deliver the highest standard of veterinary care.
What They Are Looking For:
They are seeking a veterinary surgeon with at least 3 years of experience, who is confident in medical and surgical procedures and eager to continue learning and advancing in their career. You should be passionate about providing the best care for your patients and dedicated to working within a collaborative team. In this role, you will focus mainly on consultations, with one dedicated surgery day each week.
Work-Life Balance:
They understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance and are flexible with hours to suit your lifestyle. While they would prefer someone who can commit to 40 hours per week, we are happy to discuss part-time options. Typical shifts are from 8 am to 6 pm or 10 am to 8 pm, with only one late shift per week. You'll also work one weekend per month (Saturday 9 am - 6 pm, Sunday 10 am - 4 pm). Best of all, there's no sole charge work, and no out-of-hours responsibilities.
What They Offer:
- Competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £70,000 (dependent on experience)
- Generous CPD allowance, with support for certificates or other qualifications
- Clinical freedom to practice in a way that reflects your skills and expertise
- Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA, ISFM)
- Great clients and a supportive, friendly team
- Close proximity to Brighton and the beautiful South Downs National Park
