Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a new opportunity with flexible working hours? This friendly practice in Coventry is an established, busy, modern practice with a long-standing team of colleagues who take pride in their friendly atmosphere and strong team spirit.
They are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team, which consists of 6 vets, 8 nurses, a Student Veterinary Nurse, a Veterinary Care Assistant, 7 Receptionists, and a Practice Manager.
The practice was bought by two owners 6 years ago and since then they have expanded the team from 3 to an impressive 26 members. One manages the practice day-to-day, while the other, a qualified RVN, leads the nursing team. Together, they have built a great team that provides outstanding pet healthcare to clients in Coventry.
The practice is conveniently located just minutes from the M6 and M69, with easy access to both Birmingham and Leicester. Being based within a popular residential area provides ample opportunities to see a wide variety of interesting medical and surgical cases.
The surgery is bright, spacious, and air-conditioned, built to industry-leading standards. State-of-the-art equipment includes digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house blood machines, ensuring the best tools are available for top-quality care.
The team is seeking an experienced vet who is confident in handling all routine surgical and medical cases. Special interests are welcome and supported; experience in dermatology or cardiology is desirable but not essential. The practice sees a variety of clinical cases and provides specialized surgeries.
The role is full-time, including 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm), with no sole charge or out-of-hours responsibilities. The team can be flexible on shifts and rotation to ensure a great work-life balance.
They offer:
- Salary up to £70k (dependent on experience)
- 5.6 weeks of annual leave, including bank holidays (increasing after 2 years of service)
- Extra day off for your birthday
- Flexible rota with no out-of-hours responsibility
- CPD and certificate support and funding
- Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, and VDS)
- Contributory pension scheme
- 20% colleague discount at Pets at Home and The Vet Group, plus exclusive company discounts and rewards
- Supportive and friendly work environment with access to Colleague Assistance Programmes
