This well-established and modern veterinary practice is committed to delivering exceptional care to patients and their owners. With state-of-the-art facilities and a strong team of veterinary professionals, the practice provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for small animals. The team prides itself on a collaborative work environment and a strong emphasis on professional development.
About Them
The team has a long history at the practice, with many members progressing in their careers while working here. Both the head nurse and senior RVN started as locums before becoming permanent and the Practice Manager joined nine years ago as a VCA.
Both the CD and the PM are trained Mental Health First Aiders, and they, along with the clinical team, are supported by a brilliant client care team and a strong group of veterinary nurses, including a Nursing Clinical Lead, SVN, Pharmacy Assistant, Hygiene Technician, and VCA.
The practice is an approved training practice, and their CD serves as a Vet GDP Advisor, so new graduates are also welcome to apply, as the practice is keen to support career development from the outset.
About the Role
The practice has a loyal, growing client base with a varied caseload, including small furries, exotics, and dentistry. The team is diverse, and depending on your individual style, consult times are flexible, with breaks and an hour-long lunch included. Regular team catch-ups are held after morning consults to share thoughts and ideas, fostering a collaborative environment.
There is no out-of-hours (OOH) work required, and appointments finish half an hour before closing to ensure everyone can catch up and finish on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical and surgical care to a variety of small animal patients
- Conduct thorough clinical examinations and diagnostic workups
- Perform routine and complex surgeries
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering advice and follow-up care
- Work closely with the veterinary team to deliver excellent care and share knowledge
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
What Were Looking For
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Strong clinical skills (surgical bias preferred, but all specialities considered)
- Open to considering new graduates for the practices ongoing growth
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Passion for delivering outstanding care and client communication
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Enthusiastic, compassionate, and proactive approach to veterinary care
- Flexible in considering both full- and part-time applicants (no OOHs required, minimum 1 in 4 Saturdays, 9 am - 12 pm)
