Veterinary Surgeon - Full-Time Role in South East London

We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon with this growing practice in South East London near the Thames.

Location and Facilities:

The practice is well-served by local bus routes and offers plenty of free onsite parking. It has recently undergone a refurbishment and extension, featuring:

  • A new reception area
  • Six consultation rooms
  • Dedicated cat and dog wards
  • A dual operating theatre
  • A back office

Our Team:

The team is large, friendly, and supportive, consisting of:

  • Seven full-time Vets
  • Eight Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs)
  • One Student Veterinary Nurse
  • Five Veterinary Care Assistants
  • Eight Receptionists

Our Culture:

The practice prides itself on the positive working environment it has cultivated, where all team members are encouraged to learn, grow, and excel. Knowledge and expertise are shared during daily rounds, where everyone's input is encouraged during clinical case discussions.

Several vets on the team are currently completing certificates in:

  • Surgery
  • Ophthalmology
  • Anaesthesia

The Head Nurse and Practice Owner holds certificates in feline and Emergency and Critical Care (ECC), and another nurse is pursuing an anaesthesia certificate. The practice encourages and supports all team members who wish to gain further qualifications, whether through certificate programs or other CPD opportunities.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who:

  • Is confident in routine surgery and medicine
  • Is comfortable with some sole charge responsibilities
  • Is capable of making decisions under pressure

A preference for a medicine focus is desirable, but an all-rounder would also be a great fit. The position is full-time, working four days per week with a 1 in 6 weekend rota, and does not include OOH work, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

What We Offer:

  • Salary up to £70,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Generous CPD allowance or support towards a certificate
  • Enhanced annual leave and pension contributions
  • 1 in 6 weekend rota
  • No OOH duties
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BSAVA, VDS)
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards, including high street retailers and restaurants
