A permanent, full-time, experienced Small Animal Veterinarian with a surgical certificate is sought for a position at a well-established practice in Ingatestone. This role becomes available due to the current vet's relocation to Wales. The practice is a Small Animal first opinion facility with a hospital and two branches.

The role involves participating in the practice's regular rota, which includes consulting and performing procedures. The key details of the position are as follows:

  • 4 days per week
  • Working hours: 8:30 am to 8:00 pm on two days per week, and 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on two days per week, as scheduled in the weekly rota
  • On-call responsibilities for inpatients and emergency cases (presented before 8:00 pm) once every fortnight
  • 1 in 8 Saturday mornings, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
  • 1 in 8 duty weekends, which includes Friday evening consultations, Saturday morning consultations, emergency care from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, and responsibility for inpatients throughout the weekend. Any emergencies outside of these hours will be handled by Vets Now.
  • Bank holidays are worked on a rota basis, up to two per year, with the same working hours as Sundays.

The practice performs a range of non-routine surgeries, including an average of two TPLOs per month. The ideal candidate would be expected to manage these surgeries, in addition to other orthopaedic procedures such as lateral suture and patella stabilisation. The practice is also on the verge of offering laparoscopic surgery.

If you are interested in joining an independent practice committed to your development, growth and providing a supportive work environment, submit your CV and call Mia on 01291 645871 for a confidential chat.
